Product Overview

The library aims to replicate the experience of being in the room with an orchestra, providing a rich and immersive sound suitable for cinematic scoring.

Details

The library is designed with a composer’s workflow in mind, offering seamless articulation transitioning (S.A.T.) that allows for fluid changes between different playing techniques without interrupting the musical flow. This feature enables sustained notes to evolve into tremolos or other articulations naturally. The ensemble captures a wide dynamic range, from soft whispers to powerful fortissimos, making it versatile for various scoring contexts.

Recording utilized 48 microphones, including 26 for the main capture and an additional 22 close bleed microphones to capture the natural interaction between sections. This setup provides options for blending the direct sound of the strings with the ambient resonance of the full orchestra, enhancing the depth and authenticity of the sound. The library also includes a comprehensive set of articulations, such as staccato, spiccato, and tremolo, along with extended techniques like harmonics and pendulum glissandi.

Natural String Change technology allows for smooth transitions between notes, preserving the resonance of previous notes when changing strings. The library also features composer-crafted ensembles for quick sketching and flexible voicing options. Overall, LUX Orchestral Strings is tailored for professional composers looking to create rich, expressive orchestral music.
